Photos of the Week: May 21

Beachcombing on Salmon Bay

We visited a friend who was staying near the railroad crossing over Salmon Bay outside of the locks in Seattle. An incredibly beautiful spot full of all sorts of treasures and fun!

I’ve previously published photos of the great viewing room that we have at the local dump but this past weekend, we coordinated a visit so that my mom could go up into the viewing room with the kids to watch while I drove in to deposit the old hot tub cover below. I know it’s not what usually counts for fun on a Saturday – but my kids love it!

Target sells these great bubble fans for $5 and they provide priceless fun!

I spotted this rock on a neighborhood walk. It’s my segue to asking – how was your week?

  1. Nature always send us subtle messages and that Life on the rock was a wonderful wink. Your week looked amazing and those photos of your children playing with the bubble fan are priceless joy.

The week just flew by over here and thankful itโ€™s the long weekend over here! Take care!

  2. Beachcombing… blowing bubbles … bundles of trash … all are a tab better when shared with the unfiltered exuberance and wonder of children. Makes this ole Dad wish he could turn back the hands of time and replace the memories with reliving them once more.

Your priorities are spot on Mom. Keep experiencing life to the fullest with your precious little ones.

    1. Thank you, Fred! I’m sure you have wonderful memories of your 6 (do I have that right?) but yes, living them is a special joy. Thank you for such a lovely comment that helps me appreciate the gift of the time I have right now! Sending my best to you.

    1. Yes – it’s such a neat bubble maker. All they have to do is dip the front in the bubble mixture and then hold the switch to make bubbles. It’s so gratifying, especially for the little ones who it allows to make great bubbles! Enjoy the weekend, Nancy!

    1. Oh, Tamara, I’m so sorry to hear that. I was just writing a piece about a root canal – because I had to hold Mr. D through one on Friday. So I’m so sympathetic. Hope you are healing well!

      1. Thanks! The procedure went well, the pain afterwards is being dealt with by applying some CBD oil directly into my mouth and taking CBD capsules. This does the double job of healing as well as dealing with the pain. Thankful for that so I donโ€™t need to load up on ibuprofen!

    1. Perfectly said my friend! And always makes me laugh when I buy them toys and find that they’d rather be pushing the “copy” button on the printer or something like that. Unpredictable, imaginative and wonderful! Hope you all are having a great weekend!

  4. Great weekly photos! I love that you are teaching your children to experience life and all of its wonders (from bubbles to being thoughtful about our impact on this planet). My week was emotionally challenging, but I am focusing on gratitude this morning. I have a lot to be thankful for ๐Ÿ™‚
